Influent pays for ads to reach buyers. We connect you to them.
You're paying for posts that reach the wrong crowd. Influent and ExpertGen agree on why that happens. Influent rents the reach with ads, and we build it with connection requests.
Influent is a LinkedIn only agency. It writes an executive's posts, then pays for Thought Leader Ads to push them to a target account list. Its own guide prices a full single executive program at $12,000 to $20,000 a month before ad spend, on a 12 month minimum. ExpertGen writes the posts and sends 600 connection requests a month to get those same buyers into your network instead. Pick Influent if you have an ad budget. Pick ExpertGen if you don't.

What Influent is
Influent is a LinkedIn only agency. It sells executive LinkedIn programs to B2B companies. Their home page didn't load as readable text when we checked, so every number on this page comes from their own published guides, which did load.
Their capabilities guide names eight parts of a full program: executive content, employee advocacy, paid amplification with LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads, influencer posts, outbound to people who engaged with the posts, company page management, buyer level engagement measurement, and sales activation that writes engagement data into your CRM. Multi executive programs split the buying committee, so the CEO talks to senior leaders and the CTO talks to technical ones.
Their cost guide is where the numbers are. A full program for one executive is $12,000 to $20,000 a month before media spend. Running the paid side is another $2,000 to $6,000 a month, and the ad budget itself sits on top of that. Onboarding is a one time $5,000 to $25,000. They recommend a 12 month minimum with 60 to 90 days of cancellation notice, say onboarding takes three to six weeks, and say compounding shows around month six.
What Influent does well
They're right about the problem and they say it in public. Their guide states that organic posting puts roughly 10 to 15 percent of impressions in front of the audience you meant to reach, and that paid amplification raises that to roughly 85 to 90 percent. We tell people the same thing. Posting harder doesn't fix who is reading. Their fix is also faster than ours. An ad can put a post in front of a named list of accounts next week, while a connection request has to be accepted first, and that takes days.
It's a bigger program than ours too, and the bigger program is sometimes the right one. Their measurement names which specific people and companies engaged with a post, that data goes into your CRM for sales to work, and they can run several executives at once. For a funded company with an ad budget and a few leaders who'll sit for interviews, that's more than we do, and we'd tell you so on the call.
Where Influent stops
Their own guide is honest about fit, so most of this comes from them. If you're a smaller company, these are the parts that will stop you.
- It costs $12,000 to $20,000 a month for one executive before ads, plus $5,000 to $25,000 to start.
- You sign a 12 month minimum with 60 to 90 days of notice, and their own guide says compounding shows around month six.
- The ad budget is part of the design. Their guide says a company with one executive, no advertising budget and a visibility goal should seriously consider a freelancer.
- Paid reach lasts as long as the budget does. Their own figure for reach without it is 10 to 15 percent of impressions.
- The results on their site are their own reported numbers, and we couldn't check them.
What ExpertGen does instead
ExpertGen is a LinkedIn scaling agency in Portland, Oregon. We work the same problem from the other end. Instead of paying to reach people who aren't connected to you, we connect them to you first. First we build the list of your exact buyers on LinkedIn, picked by title, company size and industry, and you approve it before anything sends. Then 600 connection requests a month go out from your own profile, which works out to 20 a day. That's slower than an ad, and the connection stays after the spending stops.
Then we write the posts, because they're what makes your name familiar. Twelve a month, in your voice, published on your profile. The words come from you. It starts with one 45 minute call, then you send us a 10 minute voice memo each week and we turn it into that week's posts. Setup includes a rewrite of your profile so it reads for buyers. From week 3, every buyer who accepts a request or reacts to a post gets a short message in your voice, and we send three at most. Then we book calls with the ones who reply, straight onto your calendar. You get a weekly scoreboard: buyers added, buyers reacting, messages sent, replies, calls.
Across the campaigns we've run, messages to a sender's own first degree network of buyers got 11 to 28 replies per 100. The same message to strangers got about 1 reply per 100.
This only works for companies that sell to other businesses whose buyers are on LinkedIn, and it takes weeks instead of days. It needs 10 minutes of your voice a week. If you need calls booked by Friday, this is the wrong tool. More connections doesn't mean more reach either, because the feed decides what gets shown, so the scoreboard counts buyers reacting instead of connection counts or impressions. We don't promise you a number of leads or calls. You see the real numbers every week and you can judge them yourself.
Who should pick which
Pick Influent if
- You have several executives and a real budget for LinkedIn ads.
- You want your posts in front of named target accounts in weeks, not months.
- You can sign a 12 month agreement and want engagement data in your CRM.
Pick ExpertGen if
- You have one founder or one seller and no ad budget.
- You want the people who see the posts to be connections you can message.
- You'd rather start with a 90 day block than a year.
What it costs, side by side
Influent publishes ranges instead of a price list. One executive, full program, is $12,000 to $20,000 a month before media. Running the ads is another $2,000 to $6,000 a month, and the ad budget is on top of both. Onboarding is $5,000 to $25,000 once. Three executives run $20,000 to $30,000 a month, and ten or more run $75,000 to $150,000. There is a 12 month minimum and 60 to 90 days of cancellation notice, so the smallest real commitment is a year.
ExpertGen is one flat plan, and the first block is 90 days, paid up front, because a network takes weeks to warm and the messages don't start until week 3. We give you the price on the first call. That plan covers the buyer list you approve, the profile rewrite, the 12 posts a month, the 600 connection requests, the messages to people who react, and the weekly scoreboard. There's no ad spend on top of it, because we don't run ads.
